A website in
30 minutes?

Ember & Oak: an AI agent, a fictional coffee-roaster brief and a time-boxed engineering challenge.

The challenge

Could an AI agent implement a website for a fictional coffee roaster within 30 minutes? Ember & Oak was a demonstration brief, not a paying client engagement.

What happened

The agent completed the implementation in approximately 4 minutes 41 seconds. The reported automated test suite passed 22 of 22 tests; an additional independent automated check suite passed 14 of 14 checks.

The agent also identified and corrected a copy issue. This is a useful example of implementation and self-correction within a bounded task.

Evidence basis: results supplied by Agile Nimbus for this case study. The original test reports and recording are not bundled with this website; these results have not been independently rerun as part of this rebuild.

What this does not prove

  • The output was a demonstration prototype, not a production client delivery.
  • The contact form had no production backend.
  • The checks did not establish complete mobile or accessibility compatibility.
  • The reported time is implementation time. It is not a promise of end-to-end production delivery.
  • Passing the listed checks does not establish that every possible behaviour was tested.

The engineering takeaway

A fast first implementation creates something tangible to inspect. Production readiness still needs work: a real enquiry route, broader device and accessibility testing, content review and deployment checks.

LET’S BUILD SOMETHING USEFUL

Bring the problem.
We’ll explore the possibilities.

A workflow that takes too long. An idea that needs a prototype. A system that should work better.
